Millennial Mom’s Labor Day Travel Hacks

Over 35 million Americans travel over Labor Day weekend and I stopped by CBS LA to share some of my favorite travel hacks.

The Parker Palm Springs

My favorite place to take a quick weekend getaway is The Parker Palm Springs. It’s just a short 2 hour drive but you really feel transported thanks to their lush 13-acre estate. There are tons of activities for the whole family. There’s 3 swimming pools, four tennis courts, giant chess, croquet, table tennis, everywhere you turn there’s something new to do. A great hack when visiting The Parker is to book their Spa Junkie package. For an extra $50, you get $250 to spend on spa treatments. My husband and I always take advantage of it and it’s a great deal.

Milk & Sass Macaron for Hair

When traveling with my family, I like to pack small products that pull double duty. This tiny Macaron for Hair is a hairbrush that packs a lot of power. It detangles, adds shine, and reduces flyaways. Plus, it works on all hair types and works wonders on tangles so you can use it on the whole family. It also has a mirror so you can primp on the go.

Fairy Tales Sun & Swim Hair Care Kit

I always try to pack toiletries that my whole family can use to save luggage space. One of my favorite kits is the Fairy Tales Sun & Swim Hair Care Kit, especially when we’re spending a lot of time at the pool or beach. It comes with a Clarifying Shampoo, Lemonaid conditioner, and Coco Cabana Sun Spray to restore hair after swimming. They’re made from natural citrus extracts, coconut oil and banana leaf and are allergen-free. All products are safe for color treated hair, so mom can use it too!

Savvy Travelers

Right now I have at least 4 different kinds of wipes in my bag. Baby wipes, sanitizing wipes, makeup wipes… When I travel though, I like to pack the Jet Set Kit from Savvy Travelers because it comes with all the wipes you might need in convenient travel sizes. They are especially useful in those situations where you may not have access to water for rinsing. Plus, they are biodegradable and natural so you can feel good about using them.

Beaba MiniCall Audio Monitor

I always travel with a monitor to keep my daughter within earshot while she’s sleeping. But my main monitor is a pain to pack, it’s bulky and unnecessary now that Beaba has just released their MiniCall Audio Monitor. It’s tiny, weighs nothing and has a really long range – 1000 feet. So that means you can get some sun on your patio while your child naps and stil be able to hear them. Plus, it’s shock and water resistant so it’s way more durable than most monitors.

VIVOBAREFOOT Shoes

Next I have kids shoes from VIVOBAREFOOT. These are great shoes to take on vacation because they’ll withstand any adventure. Here’s the hack with these shoes: They feature soles that are 5x more puncture resistant than regular soles, but they are ultra-thin so kids can actually feel the ground they’re walking on as if they were barefoot, and that’s really important for healthy foot development. Plus, they’re super lightweight. The Ultra Kids are great for water activities and the Mini Primus for all their dry adventures.

Jet Kids BedBox

Flying with babies and toddlers can give even the calmest parents anxiety. I just flew across the country with my almost 2 year old and thankfully I found the Jet Kids BedBox before we left. It’s a carry-on sized suitcase that transforms into a bed or leg rest for kids. You simply set it up after take off and it makes for an extremely comfortable flight. My daughter slept for 3 hours and really loved the space to stretch out. All the flight attendants thought it was such an amazing idea.
